Say hello to festivals and flowers galore! April is one of our favorite months of the year here at The Birchwood. From beautiful weather to plenty of festivities, April is the perfect time to explore everything St. Petersburg has to offer. Here are four of our favorite upcoming events we’re excited for this month:
American Stage in the Park presents ‘Footloose – the Musical’ – from April 6 – May 8
Get your dancing shoes ready and get excited for the high-energy pop musical FOOTLOOSE as it twirls into Demens Landing for American Stage in the Park’s 2022 production. This Broadway hit is based on the musical movie that tells the story of Ren McCormack, a teen who ends up in a rural town that banned dancing.
Soon after, he gets the town’s younger generation excited to ignite a protest. If you’re sitting on the edge of your seat to see what happens next, head over to Demens Landing Park from April 6 – May 8 to see for yourself!
Mainsail Art Festival – April 16 – 17
Art Enthusiasts, you will love the 47th Annual Mainsail Art Festival in St. Petersburg’s waterfront Vinoy Park on April 16 and 17. Sunshine Artist Magazine rated this festival as one of the “100 Best” Fine Art Events in the U.S.
This event will feature more than 250 Juried Fine Art & Craft Exhibitors in many crafts such as jewelry, metal, mixed media, digital art, ceramics, watercolor, photography and more.
Admission is free. Enjoy live music and entertainment, a culinary arts food court and activities for kids.
The Green Thumb Festival – April 23 – 24
More than 120 garden, flower and plant vendors and exhibitors will come together at The Green Thumb Festival from April 23 – 24. The Green Thumb Festival is St. Petersburg’s annual Arbor Day Celebration and brings together families and individuals who love plants and flowers.
The event includes a flower show, children’s crafts, a butterfly tent, a plant auction and so much more. This is a great way to celebrate Earth Day!
St. Anthony’s Triathlon Festival – April 29 – May 1
